Companies

We advise companies on embedding sustainability effectively in the core business, meeting regulatory requirements and making use of the opportunities the transformation brings. What that work looks like depends entirely on where you stand. We have therefore organised this page around your actual situation rather than around the names of regulations.

Where companies stand today

The omnibus process has substantially reduced the number of companies that report directly. But falling outside the CSRD, the CSDDD or the taxonomy does not put you outside the topic. Three situations come up most often in practice.

You are still in scope, or newly in scope. What is mandatory follows from the current thresholds: more than 1,000 employees and more than EUR 450 million in turnover for the CSRD and the taxonomy, and more than 5,000 employees and more than EUR 1.5 billion in worldwide net turnover for the due diligence directive, whose obligations bite from July 2029. You will find the detail on our pages on the CSRD, the EU Taxonomy and supply chain due diligence.

You have dropped out of the direct obligation, but not out of expectations. Many companies have invested over recent years in materiality assessments, data processes and reporting structures, and now fall below the new thresholds. The question is which of that groundwork still pays off, whether for internal steering, for financing discussions or for voluntary reporting under the new Voluntary Standard.

You are asked for data without a reporting obligation of your own. Customers, banks and investors ask regardless of whether you report. The value chain cap limits what partners in scope may require from you, but it does not stop them asking in the first place. Prepare your data properly once and you can use it for several requests at the same time instead of answering each one separately.

Our topics for companies

  • Reporting: Double materiality assessment, gap analysis and the move to the revised ESRS. → CSRD

  • Carbon footprint and climate targets: Corporate and product carbon footprints in line with the GHG Protocol, science-based targets under the SBTi Corporate Net-Zero Standard V2.0. → Carbon accounting

  • Strategy: A sustainability and climate strategy that fits your business model and builds on your materiality assessment. → Sustainability and climate strategy

  • Activity classification: Mapping your economic activities under the EU Taxonomy, including the new ten per cent materiality threshold. → EU Taxonomy

  • Supply chain: Due diligence obligations under the CSDDD and national law, including the question of whether and how far you are still affected at all. → Supply chain due diligence

  • Nature-related risks: Impacts and dependencies relating to biodiversity following the LEAP approach, and preparation for ESRS E4. → Biodiversity

How we work

  • Assessing your situation: We usually establish within a few days which of these situations applies to you and what actually follows from it, before going into any depth.

  • One data base across topics: Carbon data, materiality assessment and activity classification build on each other. We collect them once and use them jointly for the CSRD, the taxonomy and the requests coming in from banks or investors, instead of rebuilding them for each requirement.

  • Workshops and training: We show your team in practical terms what the requirements that apply to you actually mean.
