Preparation of a carbon footprint

INITIAL SITUATION

For a services company with around 100 employees, we prepared an initial carbon footprint as well as calculations for subsequent years. The carbon footprint helps the company monitor its emissions and to identify potential mitigation actions and emissions reduction targets.

APPROACH

- Determining of various emissions sources across company locations in Germany and Austria
- Collection of energy and emissions data for direct and indirect emissions (Scope 1-3), i.e. from building heat to business travel
- Development of concrete mitigation measures and reduction targets

RESULTS

- Preparation of a carbon footprint for 2019-2021 with baseline 2019 as pre-Corona comparison
- Analysis of emission hotspots and deriving of recommendations for emissions reduction actions
- Presentation of results in a final workshop and definition of possible mitigation targets
